The BBC stated it obtained six complaints towards veteran radio host Tim Westwood, together with one which was referred to police, regardless of beforehand saying it was unaware of any issues in regards to the DJ’s behaviour.
The hip hop DJ, who was a BBC radio presenter for nearly 20 years, stepped down from his present on Capital Xtra in April following accusations by a number of girls of sexual misconduct and predatory behaviour.
In allegations reported by BBC Information and The Guardian, the 64-year-old is alleged to have abused his place within the music business to benefit from seven girls of their late teenagers or early 20s.
The previous Radio 1 DJ “strongly” denies any wrongdoing, with a spokesperson for him beforehand saying there had by no means been any complaints made towards Westwood “formally or unofficially”.
